Discovery of whales

(from July to November)

The outing begins with a stop and launch in the lagoon with black tip sharks and stingrays (we do not feed).

We continue at sea to search and then observe dolphins and whales. Possible launch depending on weather conditions and especially the behavior of cetaceans.

On board biscuits, water and fruit juices are at your disposal.

We can provide you with life jacket, fins, masks and snorkels.

Think about your towels, sunscreens, and a change of clothes or rain gear. The weather at sea is very changeable (wind and spray).

* 2020 , due to the Covid19 crisis , it is better to have your own equipment, snacks and drinks.

To know :

On board, you are accompanied by an experienced captain and guide trained in first aid at sea.

The distance of whale watching with a boat in French Polynesia is 100m. This means that you have to know how to swim a distance of a hundred meters to approach the whale in snorkeling (at 30m). We must also take into account the sea depths which can reach 2,500m between Tahiti and Moorea.

We now prohibit the use of snorkeling face masks (or “Teletubbies” 😊 mask) for swimming in the high seas. After a long swim which breathes out the person no longer receives enough oxygen and ends up suffocating. This type of mask is strongly discouraged for physical efforts. The traditional mask and snorkel is the right equipment.

Snorkeling and dolphin watching

(Except whale season)

We will start with a stop on the sandbank where you can swim safely with black tip sharks and stingrays (we do not feed).

Along the way, on the side of the passes, we will go in search of and observation of dolphins which often offer us a pretty aquatic broom.

The walk also invites you to contemplate the rugged reliefs of the island and the exceptional blue of the lagoon.

We will then continue towards the coral garden, between the two Motu, teeming with underwater life and teeming with multicolored fish.

And to finish the tour, we will stop in an area where turtles are used to rest. You will be able to evolve in snorkeling at their side, it is worth a look.

(The order of the stops could be changed)
